In the city of Pune, India
God has truly blessed the work in Pune. Two years back we started with three people doing evangelistic Bible studies.
Over time it grew to ten, then twenty-two. Now by God's grace we have officially become a church, The First Baptist Church
of Pune.
Our Need and Opportunity
We are now running an average of fifty-five members for Sunday morning worship. Because we meet in an apartment there
is no room for visitors. If five visitors came to our meeting there would be no room for them. Our plan is to build a two
story structure. On the first floor would be three apartments with the church meeting hall above.
This plan is helpful in two ways. 1.) We would not have to travel back to ask for money every time we needed support.
It would help us be self supporting. 2.) It will give us the resources to plant new churches far into the future. Many areas
where we will be working the people do not have the resources to build a church of their own.
We have an opportunity to purchase land and build a meeting hall. Because of the fast growing business in Pune, land
is becoming more expensive. The BMAA Missions Department is willing to share the costs if we raise $20,000.00 ourselves through
church and individual donations.
